I toured the General Pencil factory in NJ today. The last American manufacturer of #2 pencils, family owned and operated since 1889. We went from the bottom floor where they mix the graphite (Dickensian) to the top floor where they attach the erasers (sublime). It was awesome! At the end of the tour the owner said “Thank you for your work.” :-) Pictures and video soon …
Everything about this is so lovely, especially that they attach the erasers on the top floor.
